This Quarter's Agenda
Reading
In our reading lessons, we are exploring text structure and theme. By understanding how texts are organized and identifying the main themes within them, students can deepen their comprehension and analytical skills. We encourage you to engage in conversations with your child about the books they are reading to reinforce these concepts.
Social Studies
This quarter, our social studies curriculum will center around the theme of teamwork and its impact on shaping our nation. We will be learning about influential figures such as MLK Jr. and Caesar Chavez, who worked as a team to bring about positive change. This topic provides an opportunity for meaningful discussions about collaboration, empathy, and making a difference in our community.
Science
In science, we will be exploring animal behaviors and plants. Students will investigate how animals behave in their natural habitats and how plants adapt to their environment. This unit will foster a sense of curiosity and appreciation for the diversity of life on our planet.

Homework
Ours has videos of math and reading concepts we are learning the week of or prior. It will also have worksheets to complete and activities that students can do on a piece of notebook paper. The digital activities can be completed on a Chromebook, iPad, or phone. If you don't have any of those options, then the worksheets and paper-based activities will be suited for you.
You and your student may choose to complete 1 to 2 activities a day. And cross off as you complete it. I am not looking for the entire board to be crossed off by Friday, the choice is yours. Folders are collected on Fridays by our Homework Handler, which is the job of the student. It is the first thing students do when they enter on Friday morning. If students are late or absent, it is their responsibility to turn it into the handler when they can.
